Life Of Dillon is a self termed “acoustic house” trio from the UK that consists of David Keiffer, Joe Griffith, and Rob Griffith.  The group describes themselves as a group that makes “acoustic-laced, dance-driven pop that captures the free spirit of a globe-traveling drifter.”  The trio takes their name from a surfing Nepalese wanderer named Dillon who the trio encountered while visiting Brazil, the Griffith brother’s birthplace.

This trip to Brazil inspired the trio’s first musical recordings which they started once they came back home to London.  The trio released their debut single “Overload”, which fused not only elements of folk and house but also some pop as well.  The single was released in early 2015 through Disruptor, a division of the major label Epic.  The trio released their first EP, “Prologue”, on May 19, 2015.

This group has only just begun to release their music but based on the tracks on “Prologue” they seem like they are going to have a very bright future ahead of them.  Check out some of their biggest hits so far below and see why this “acoustic house” trio will soon be the next big thing in electro-pop/house music.

John Newman

John Newman is an English singer and musician who is best known for his hit song “Love Me Again” which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2013.  He was also the featured artist on Rudimental’s hit 2012 single “Feel The Love” and “Not Giving In,” which peaked at number one and number fourteen on the chart, respectively.  Newman was one of the most successful and praised British singers in 2013.  He has been nominated for two Brit Awards including Best British Male Singer, at the 2014 BRIT Awards.

Newman grew up in Settle in the Yorkshire Dales and attended Settle College.  When Newman was six, his alcoholic father left the family, leaving his mother Jackie, his older brother James and him to fend for themselves.  He started playing guitar and writing his own songs at the age of 14 and soon learned how to record and produce himself.  At 20, Newman moved to London, started a band and shortly after, was signed to Island Records.

On October 14, 2013, his debut studio album, “Tribute,” was released.  Talking to Digital Spy about the album, he said: “I was going through a pretty bad break-up while I was making the album and I thought the title really needed to resonate.  This record is a culmination of my life to this point, it’s who I am and I wanted to thank everyone who has helped, supported, loved me and been an inspiration to me.”  On October 20, 2013, the album entered the UK Albums Chart at number one.

Newman’s musical career has just taken off and there is no telling what he’ll do next.  With a strong, powerful voice and catchy choruses, Newman knows how to work his way to number one on the charts.  Check out his biggest hits so far below and keep an eye out for what this singer has in store for the future.
