Jeff Abel, better known by his stage name Excision, is a dubstep producer and DJ from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.  Excision frequently works with fellow Canadian dubstep producers Datsik and and Downlink.  Along with Downlink, he is the founder of Rottun Recordings.

In 2007, Excision released “No Escape,” through Rottun Recordings.  The single sold out shortly after its release and made it apparent that there was a demand for more aggressive dubstep.  Excision was later asked by the Australian drum and bass group, Pendulum, to remix their 2009 single, “Showdown.”

In 2011, Excision toured the US with Downlink and Legacy on the Subsonic Tour.  He released his debut studio album, “X Rated,” on September 12, 2011 through the Canadian Mau5trap Recordings label.  A remix album was released a year later.  Excision set out to explore various music styles beyond his own throughout the album and collaborated with various artists including Datsik, Downlink, SKisM, Messinian, Sawy and Mr. Hudson.

In 2012, Excision started the North American “X Tour” with Liquid Stranger and Lucky Date.  After the tour, Excision created an electronic super group called “Destroid” with Downlink and Pendulum’s former drummer KJ Sawka.

In January 2013 until April, Excision embarked on a new tour covering North America and Canada, during which he unveiled his new “Executioner” video stage along with its 100,000 watt bass system from PK Sound.  He was accompanied by fellow electronic acts Vaski and Paper Diamond.

Excision stated that starting in January 2014, a new tour will begin across North America and Canada with support from Dirtyphonics and Ill Gates.  For this tour, he has stated that he will bring his new 115,000 watt bass system from PK Sound.

Excision is one of the most aggressive dubstep artists out there.  With a bass system that continuously gets deeper and deeper until it feels like it’s shaking your very soul and with the pyrotechnics and aggressiveness of a heavy metal concert, there really is no artist quite like Excision.  He takes his music to another level and the only way that I can accurately describe it is if you were at the epicenter of an earthquake.  Check out his biggest hits below and check to see if his tour is coming anywhere near you.
