Category: Awesome And Crazy!!!

One of the most awesome parts of Comic-Con this year was the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel.  During the panel, J. J. Abrams and the cast and crew showed all of the die-hard Star Wars fans, who literally waited days in line to see the panel, an awesome behind-the-scenes video of the making of the film.  The video showed just how much passion and care has gone into the film from everyone in the crew, to the practical effects modelers, to even the original cast from the Star Wars classics.  Even Simon Pegg, a well known actor and passionate Star Wars fan, is shown on the set playing some sort of alien that will probably only be a minor character somewhere, but he doesn’t care because he gets to be a part of Star Wars.

The whole thing is just to awesome!  On top of that, after the panel was over, J. J. Abrams and the crew took the entire hall of fans out to a private concert where they were all given toy lightsabers and were treated to a classic John William’s Star Wars symphony orchestra, complete with a fireworks show.  One of the coolest things I have ever seen at Comic-Con and just an awesome way to show that you love and support your fans.

I am beyond excited for this movie and December 18 cannot get here soon enough.  Check out the behind-the-scenes video below and a video showing the highlights of the private concert.  It all is just to awesome and amazing!

Kung Fury is a 2015 Swedish martial arts comedy short film that was written, directed, and starred David Sandberg.  The film is an homage to 1980’s martial arts and police action films as well as to 1980’s side-scrolling beat ’em up arcade games.  The entire film was crowdfunded through Kickstarter from December 2013 to January 2014 with pledges reaching $630,019, exceeding the original target goal of $200,000, but missing the feature film goal of $1 million dollars.  The film was selected to screen in the Director’s Fortnight section of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival but lost to “Rate Me” from the UK.

The film is utterly ridiculous in an awesomely bad 80’s way.  With hilarious cheesy dialogue, Nazis, Hitler, machine gun wielding warrior women on dinosaurs, the god of thunder, Thor, a hacker who can hack time and space, and a theme song that is sung by David Hasselhoff, this movie has it all and it is simply amazing that Sandberg was able to make all of it look so polished with only the $630,019 that he raised through Kickstarter.

The best part is that the film is free for everyone to watch through YouTube so check it out below.  I’ll also include David Hasselhoff’s official music video to the film as well.
