Hands Like Houses, an Australian rock band from out of Canberra, Australia first formed in 2008 from the remains of two other local bands, “So Long Safety” and “Eternal Debut.”  The band consists of six members: Trenton Woodley (lead vocals), Matt “Coops” Cooper (lead guitar), Alexander Pearson (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Joel Tyrrell (bass guitar), Jamal Sabet (keyboards) and Matt Parkitney (drums).

The band first started recording their debut EP “Ground Dweller,” at Chango Studios with producer Cameron Mizell.  Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the EP was never released.  Instead, the band decided to re-record some of their tracks and record six new tracks for a full length album.  In 2011, the band released two singles, “This Ain’t No Place For Animals” and “Lion Skin,” on Itunes which garnered over 5,000 single sales.

In January 2012, the band signed with Rise Records and released their debut album “Ground Dweller” in March.  The entire album could be streamed through the Alternative Press’s Website.  “Ground Dweller” made it to No. 141 on the Billboard Top 200 and No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart.  The album was also generally well revived by critics.

On May 2, 2012, Hands Like Houses embarked on their first ever tour through the US on the Rise Records’ The Freshmen Class of ’12 Tour supporting bands such as “The Air I Breathe, ” “Palisades” and “My Ticket Home.”  In April 2012, the band released a video EP named “Snow Sessions” with acoustic performances of some songs from “Ground Dweller.”  Later in 2012, the band toured with “We Came As Romans” and “Attack Attack!” and in the fall of 2012, they toured with “Pierce The Veil” and “Sleeping With Sirens” on the Collide With The Sky Tour.

The band started writing new songs for their second album “Unimagine” as they toured through the UK with “Pierce The Veil” and “Woe, Is Me.”  They would perform these songs while touring until they finally released “Unimagine” on July 23, 2013 with the single “Introduced Species.”  The band played the entire Vans Warped Tour showcasing their new album as the tour traveled across the US.

The band confirmed that they would release a new EP titled “Reimagine” sometime in 2014 and that it would be a revisit to their previous work “Unimagine.”  The band has said, “Reimagine is a parallel and a rediscovery of Unimagine and we couldn’t be happier with the result.”  The EP was released on September 16, 2014 along with the first single off of the new album, “Revive (Introduced Species).”

Hands Like Houses has continued to expand its international fan base the more they have toured and promoted themselves.  With a mixture of technical effects, heavy songwriting and their post-hardcore passion and stage presence, Hands Like Houses delivers rich melodic vocals that soar over post-hardcore rhythm and riffs.
