Young Guns are an English rock band from out of Buckinghamshire, London.  The band consists of Gustav Wood (lead vocals), Fraser Taylor (guitar), John Taylor (guitar), Simon Mitchell (bass guitar) and Ben Jolliffe (drums, percussion, backing vocals).  The band has released two albums so far, their debut, “All Our Kings Are Dead,” in 2009 and “Bones” which was released in February 2012.  The band’s single, “Bones,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Active Rock Charts in May 2013.

Young Guns formed after each of the members had left a variety of local bands and came together through mutual acquaintance.  The group worked for months searching for their signature sound until June 29, 2009, when they released their EP “Mirrors,” which featured the two singles, “Weight of the World” and “Daughter of the Sea.”  The group began touring in July 2009 and were the opening act for Lostprophets in August 2009.

The band began working on their first album, “All Our Kings Are Dead” under their own label called Live Forever.  The album was released on July 12, 2010, and peaked at No. 43 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 3 in both the UK Rock and Indie album charts.

During the summer, the band played some of the UK’s largest music festivals including the Download Festival and opened on the main stage of the Reading Festival.  Shortly after the band toured in support of Danko Jones and had their own UK tour as well.

The band began to record their second album, “Bones,” at Karma Sound Studios in Thailand with producer Dan Weller in July 2011.  The first single to come off of “Bones” was “Learn My Lesson” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show and was made available on Itunes shortly after.  The band soon found themselves featured in popular rock magazines such as Rock Sound and Kerrang!.

“Bones” was released on February 6, 2012, and shortly after was supported by the bands “Bare Bones Club Tour” which toured a number of small venue around the UK, starting with their hometown.  The band made a montage video for their single, “Brothers In Arms,” off of the album and only made it available to those who pre-ordered the album.  One of the biggest singles to come from the album and where the title of the album came from was “Bones” which saw much chart success and topped the Billboard Active Rock charts in May 2013.  At the 20th annual Kerrang! Awards, in June 2013, the band received the Relentless Award because of the groups nonstop touring.

On February 6, 2014, it was announced that the band had recently signed to the record label, Virgin EMI, and that the group would be flying to San Francisco to work on their third album with producer Dan The Automator.  The first single off of this third album was released on August 7, 2014 titled “I Want Out” and was played on BBC Radio 1 UK Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record and was met with great reception.  The single was described as progressing towards “danceable direction a la The Killers meets  The Academy Is …“.  The band is expected to release their new album in early 2015.  The day after the single, “I Want Out,” was released on the radio it was made available on Itunes and Spotify and became No. 1 on Itunes Rock Chart.
