Disclosure, an English electronic music duo, that consists of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, is a group that has become very popular recently due to their hit single “Latch” featuring Sam Smith.

The duo released their first album, “Settle,” on June 3, 2013 through Island Records and have had six hits singles come from the album, “Latch,” “White Noise,” “You & Me,” “F For You,” “Help Me Lose My Mind,” and “Voices.”  The album recieved widespread critical praise and was nominated for the 2013 Mercury Prize.  The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and sold 44,633 copies in its first week.  It was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on July 22, 2013 and had sold 165,000 copies by late October 2013.

In general, “Settle” recieved much acclaim from music critics.  According to Metacritic, the album recieved an average score of 81 out of 100 based on 31 reviews from popular critics.  Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the album a positive review saying “Despite the list of vocals reading like a who’s who on the Hype Machine chart, Guy and Howard’s presence is felt strongly throughout, although the featureless tracks “Second Chance” and “Grab Her” are the weaker of the collection.  Regardless, much like Daft Punk’s last effort, “Settle” is an album that brings some sorely needed intelligence back to joyous dance-pop.”

These guys are pretty new to the electronic music/dance-pop world with their debut album only coming out last year, and yet they have already had six popular singles come from their album and had their album go gold within four months.  I’d say they’re on the right track and I can’t wait to see what they produce next.

Check out some of their hit singles below and if you haven’t heard “Latch” yet, check it out.  It’s sure to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
