Here is an impressive English duo that have been working nonstop to get their bands name out there.

“Slow Club” are an English duo that formed in Sheffield, England in 2006.  The band consists of multi-instrumentalist Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor, with Watson playing piano, Taylor playing drums and both performing guitar and vocals.

The band released two 7″ single records in 2007, “Because We’re Dead” and “Me and You,” through Moshi Moshi Records.  On September 1, 2008, their first extended play, “Let’s Fall Back in Love,” was released.  A Christmas single, titled “Christmas TV,” was released in December 2008.

Their debut album, “Yeah So,” was recorded by Mike Timm at Axis Studio in Sheffield and was released in July 2009, followed by the release of their second EP, “Chistmas, Thanks For Nothing,” in December 2009.

The band’s second album, “Paradise,” was produced by Luke Smith, formerly of the English band “Cor,” and was released on September 12, 2011.  In 2012 the final single from the album, “Beginners,” was released and the video featured a cameo from Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe who was a big “Slow Club” fan.

“Slow Club” have toured extensively around the UK, Europe, US, Australia, Japan and have performed at most major UK festivals including the Glastonbury festival, Latitude festival and the Green Man festival.  They have supported such acts as KT Tunstall, Florence and the Machine and Mumford and Sons.

In spring 2013, the band went back into the studio with Colin Elliot and started work on their third studio album and plan to release it in the spring of 2014.

The band is best known for their quirky lyrics, their use of a variety of percussion instruments and their great use of vocal harmony and vocal interplay.  Their back-and-forth duets are entertaining and fun to listen to.  This band is still pretty underground but have been working extensively to get their name out there.  Check out some of their biggest hits so far and keep an eye out this spring for their third studio album.
