I just discovered these guys and I love their sound. “Mona”, a rock band out of Nashville, Tennessee, has begun to make a name for themselves by touring across the United States with fellow band “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.”

The band was named in the BBC’s “Sound of 2011” poll and was crowned the Brand New for 2011 title at the MTV Music Awards. Their debut album was released on May 16, 2011 in the UK through Zion Noiz Recordings/Island Records and was released on February 28, 2012 in the US through Zion Noiz Recordings/Mercury Records.

Off of the release of their self-titled album, came two hit singles, “Shoot The Moon” and “Lean Into The Fall,” which was played on the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno”. They also performed on “The Conan Show” playing “Lean Into The Fall.”

With lead singer, Nick Brown’s, great vocal range, this band actually reminds me of U2. With soaring vocals and nice instrumental backgrounds throughout most of their songs, this band sounds great. I recommend you listen to both “Shoot The Moon” as well as “Lean Into The Fall.” Both just sound good.
