This popular violinist has begun to gain popularity, not within the classical scene, but within the electronic / dubstep scene. With the release of her self-titled album “Lindsey Stirling,” she experiments with hip-hop, electronic, and classical music; sometimes even blending them all together.

In 2010, Stirling was a quarter-finalist on the fifth season of America’s Got Talent, where she was known as the Hip-Hop violinist.

Stirling has covered many popular songs and has collaborated with many artists such as Shaun Barrowes (The Decemberists), LMFAO, Tay Zonday, Peter Hollens, who conducted the Skyrim Theme for the popular video game and the theme for Game Of Thrones, Alisha Popat, John Allred, Kurt Schneider, Aimee Proal, Megan Nicole, The Piano Guys, Tyler Ward, Pentatonix, the Salt Lake Pops orchestra and Alex Boye.

In December, YouTube announced that Stirling’s song “Crystallize” was the #8 top viewed video of 2012 with over 42 million views.

I personally love all of Stirling’s songs off of her album but If I had to pick a favorite, I suggest listening to “Crystallize.”
